Suggestion: We all should choose the website of the year...it would be nice

Really nice site though, great work!

Sure, the design looks nice and all, but the data density on each "page" is so ridiculously low that it's difficult to get a good grasp on the breadth of their content.
On December 28, 2004 7:53 PM Preston said:I agree with Eliot - the text is really small that it gave me fatigue after one minute. The site should be spread out a bit more. Also, the images waste quite a bit of bandwidth; I sat there holding my mouse over the cubes in the navigation, waiting for it to change.

But both content paragraphs overflow to create orphans that are partially clipped.
And the view buttons do not work.. So I didn't see any other pages.

For the record, this site is actually unfinished... originally started as a dhtml experiment 2 years ago (hence all the crazy js) and just recently converted to xhtml. There are a number of lingering issues (rollovers, etc) i'm aware of -- I just haven't had the time to straighten them out! Other projects keeping me busy :o)
Anyway, I appreciate the link and feedback! This is a great site here - thanks for having it. I will definitely have to take a look around. Keep up the great work!!

On December 31, 2004 8:09 AM Elliot Toman said:The graphics are nice, and the design is innovative, but I have to agree with Eliot's doubts. Navigating through that little content box made me feel a bit claustrophobic...like I didn't have enough control over what I was seeing. One of the primary advantages of the Web as an information tool is that viewers can scan over a page of content selectively. Also, I had to reduce the font size in my browser because the text was being cut off by the bottom of the box. It seems to me that with that kind of interface, you might as well use Flash and avoid such issues. And that's my long-winded comment.
