The rest is pretty good - but the image layout, not a fan...

Very cool!
On July 18, 2005 2:03 PM neal kernohan said:the site's navigation is interesting but not sure the concept has been best executed. within each section, all the images are loaded but only one is fully shown. when a new image is selected rather than change selection by javascript, the entire page is reloaded. stu nicholls has a great demo of executing something similar in css, with no page reload, may be worth investigating.
unfortunately on this site the navigation makes it very slow to load and the rollovers, roll like a dog in IE. not my cup-of-tea at all.
On July 18, 2005 6:58 PM miles said:i agree with most here, it's an interesting exercise in CSS but as a practical means of browsing images it's not really up to it.
The slices tell the user pretty much nothing about the image they would view, and the time it takes to get organised feels interminable.

My not-so super-fast broadband at the work studio not so likeing.
I'm not that keen on the photos (in general) either to be honest, but I do like the main navigation - so horah for that!
Fair play for trying something different though ...

I want to say that the gallerie is only at the begining of its development. Subsequently I will build the pages to avoid the huge image reload problem...
Respect to the work of Stu - perhaps if he had given the example before I started my gallerie I would use some of his features... but... I wanted it to generate permanent link for each picture, and by Stu - that's missing.
Currently I am finishing the CMS, so that it will fill more descriptive the "title" field in the links... as well as the information part.. et cetera...
I've been following strictly the W3 recommendations and the fact that IE doesn't catch the order (of my personal photolog) wouldn't make me use Box Model Hack... with one little exception... :o)
You can see another of my photo stoeris dor my doggie on http://hb.cult.bg/Anuk/
Thanks to kEma (http://hb.cult.bg/kema/) for her help with the translation...

But sincerily...nice work and idea! :)
