Doesn't this look a little bit too much like Forty Media's site?

http://www.fortymedia.com/

Very similar, but not a rip, maybe inspired... there were others before forty media with that concept.

Anyways, nice site. Congrats.

But strongly inspired... ;-) I thought at once at fortymedia...

This is a nice site ... but so is Forty Media...

Rip off, debatable... the code is very different.. but IMHO this is a little too close for comfort, to be listed.

Heh... I thought of Forty Media right away as well. But the more I go through the site, the less inclined I am to merely label it a "rip off".

Wow, what an excitement in here...

As I have designed and built the BGM site which is featured here,
I want to leave my comment on the things mentioned here...

The site layout is based on a pencil drawing - a step (or technique) only a few of today's web designers still are used to - which is then translated into a Photoshop layout and finally (obviously) into a cssbeauty...

There is much that inspires me and my work. Watching other sites does not (really). It is great for checking code, techniques and hacks.

My clients and my client's clients or products do inspire me a lot.

...and - concerning your comparison to Fortymedia's site:
they have built a very beautiful site as well - respect and congrats!

If I had known their site earlier, it really could have inspired me... ;)

Stay fair!

Fantastic.

I love the colors and how they fit together flawlessly. The navigation is functional but simple and the layout is amazingly well-made. One of the best sites on CSS Beauty (in my opinion of course : ).

Well it's nice and I will leave it at that.

very tidy site. the colours work very well with the product. the layout works well from top level nav right down to the individual product pages. small details like the nice little rollover shadows on the images, the mini post-its and the use of sifr make it a very pleasant, dare i say flawless, site to browse. great work!

James from Forty Media here. I'll admit that it seems scandalously close to our site, but even if was heavily inspired by our site, I give them credit for doing it the hard way instead of just stealing our code and images, as have many others; e.g.,

http://www.casatosal.com/

To be frank, I like some of the details on this site (such as the footer) better than my own!

We're going to be redesigning in the next few months anyway, so I'm not too worried about it.

I'm just happy that this many people recognize my site!

For Christ's sake stop nagging designers about purported "rip-offs" in design. Everybody builds off other people; you will find that in all human endeavors – not to mention the natural similarities in human imagination.

Yes, my EXACT thought that immeditaley distilled in my mind was "fortymedia". Sorry.

I love the minimal colors. Simple and beautiful.

Hmmm I saw forty media some time yesterday, and snooped around. but seeing this one today, it did not really click: in fact, had to do a few ALT+Tabs to see the resemblence. Yes, inspiration is there, but lots of differences, like the navigation, the shade of green etc. This, not even getting into the code.

I like the various shades of green applied on this site.
