The stain glass window(s) effect is very cool...

Did anyone notice the footer points to dead links?

Yikes! Good call. I fixed. :)

Very nice site!!!
There are some errors to events, and email the Pastor. Maybe your still correcting the dead links.

Very nice. The only thing I don't like is that stained glass is the only thing that makes 800x600 users horizontally scroll. Seems like something that could have been avoided if you used those as the page background image instead.

Thanks guys. I'll take a look at those links.

Beautiful site. I really like it, but your HTML code is outdated. Why not use the XHTML 1.0 doctype? HTML 4.01 is not up to standards with many browsers and I think it'd be better if it were more up to date.
Just a little thing... but overall fantastic site, I love it.

What really stands out about this site in my view is how well the colour balance, the images, and the layout (particularly the space and coolness) matches the overall theme of the content.

That is something that has become all too rare a find these days. Excellent work.

@Ward

True. I changed this. I'm not sure how much of the out-dated-ness of the site is due to the site admin using Macromedia Contribute. I've noticed a lot of weird happenings in the code like "style=''" and random
's and empty

's. It's the risk you take when using a tool like Contribute. I wonder if the doctypes were also changed.

I don't know why such little churches need pages like that one. Poor poor...

Wow, I can't believe the last comment from Al! A really well done, professional Web site can make a big impact on the impression the church makes. The number of visitors that try a church because of the impression given to them from the Web site is growing weekly.

Anyway, this Web site is very nicely done. Excellent design and professional-looking. The one suggestion that I'd offer is to make it reflect more of what the BELIEFS page says that they're all about -- MINISTERING TO PEOPLE. Show some people interacting and smiling, involved in a small group setting, worshiping, etc.

A really beautiful website. Everything seems to be at the right place. With one exception. I think I am the only one who doesn`t like those glass windows. For me they are positioned too closely to the page content and without them the side would also fit into a 800x600px browser window.

Really like the design, as said previously everything is were it feels it should be. One niggle though - only a small one - is that there is a few too many artifacts on the church photograph for me, just being a little sharper would finish it off nicely.

Good work!

Very clean and careful design, I agree. But a little problem I can see is that when you increase slightly the font size in your browser, the design breaks immediately : top links and navigation do not display properly anymore. The design should have been a little more tolerant in respect with font size, or what is the advantage of specifying relative font size in the stylesheet?

I like the site design. Fitting for a church. My favorite part is the same image used for the pastor just flipped and shrunk. I like the simplicity.

A very nice clean site, but like Al, I do wonder why a church needs a site like this. In general there does seem to be more church/religious organisation sites being featured than I would have thought existed though :P

Somehow, it reminds me of Green Marinee Wordpress theme by Ian Main. Thick stroke top border, gradient banner background, soft shadow...

I have my staff using Contribute for http://www.calvaryspringfield.org and XHTML 1.0 works fine. I actually designed it for use with Contribute. The random
's and empty

's are the users' attempts to create extra spaces. They don't know it does that stuff. I will say, I've disabled their abilities to add their own styles. Those random inline styles are quite annoying when you try to keep your code clean.

On another note, very nice design work. I love the site. Much cleaner and simpler than mine. ;)

Thanks Jon!

Can you still change that setting for all users *after* contribute has been set up on a server?

Hey Mark, the official website has been moved to the official domain (http://www.calvaryspringfield.org). Like I said, I have some of my staff members using Contribute. To answer your question, I don't use CMS (the contribute server software.) They don't seem to support/sell it anymore. I'm using the latest version of Contribute. Everytime I need to change a setting for say, a publisher, I change the settings for publisher, then send my people with publisher rights a new publisher connection key. Sorry I took so long to reply.

Wowza!

For a church website that is awesome, I wish the church I attend would let me redesign their website... I do find myself skipping over the content almost because the site it so pretty, perhaps that's not a good thing?
