Okay, so, is "design fckrTM" just some not-so-clever (and thoroughly played out) way of saying "Design Fucker"? If so, what the hell is that supposed to mean? If not, what the hell is that supposed to mean? I thought the About page might enlighten me, but it didn't.

Sorry I don't have any comments on the design or content; I just can't seem to get past the name.

The design seems to be a standard 3 col movable type layout of which I am sure I have seen many.

and there no gallery to see the illustrations one after another.

Nothing remarkable here AFAIS

The name doesn't bother me, and I think the site looks fantastic!

Looks to be a great resource.

No real reason of it being here other than its your site, which is ok I guess. But also wrong.

Basically one page of links? Seems like shameful self promotion of a half baked side project. I think you might have wanted to put a bit more thought into it before just launching it.

Also I have to agree with Rob about the name. 'Design Fucker' ... really? I have a short name that was thinking about using SndRcv for a similar project, but at least I think it relates a bit more communication and design.

Oh well ... good luck.

First of all let me confirm, yes it is my own sideproject and I am very proud of it. Just like CSS Beauty, I plan to make it a useful resource. Just so you know, CSS Beauty started in the same fashion, with no content, and with many people complaining about it... There will always be people whining no matter what you do, perfect example here. That's fine, you are entitled to your opinion, but I know what I am capable of.

Regarding linking to my own project, I knew the complications, I've been running this site for almost 3 years and never used the site for self promotion until now. I debated in my head whether or not I should do it, I knew some people would not see it as good, but hey it's done, and I think I deserve a little self promotion, after all, I do spend a lot of time and effort into keeping the site updated.

About the name, I will not even go into it, if it bothers you or offends you, too bad. I will say however that design is about expression.

The design/code is not some template btw, it was all created from scratch.

I for one LOVE the name. Can't please all the stiffs here, so "fck'em". Keep doing you. I'll definitely bookmark, and hope that you post some good stuff ;)

I am far from 'offended' just don't understand it. I would really love for you to go into it as I think it would help people understand what you mean. Without an explaination it just looks like ... well a lame attempt at awkwardly combining Flickr and FCUK brands and trying to capitalize on their popularity.

I don't get the fuss. It's a website for Christ sake. I think it's very well designed throughout and has some very decent content. Remove the owners name from it and it wouldn't be an issue would it?

I like it. There's something really pleasing about the layout/colors/etc. Nice job.

Alex I want to thank you for all the awesome work with CSS Beauty and now DFCKR, they're both great resources to any designer. WHO CARES if it is self promotion so long as it is pertinent to the designers - It looks like you've put a lot of work into creating these great resources - I can't speak for others but I definitely appreciate the level of effort you've committed - you've built an awesome community with CSS beauty and DFCKR looks like it has potential to become another inspirational spot on the web.

Count me in if you need another contributor!

I think this is a fantastic new site, I've been using it every day since I found it. The links are always relevant and interesting - just the right amount of updates for a quick visit every day or two.

The design is nice and simple (always hard to achieve) and holds the content very well.

The only improvement I'd like to see is adding some form of visual feedback for visited links in the Public News column, so you can see what's new in an instant.

Great work - thanks!

Why don't you just subscribe to the RSS feed? It's definiely the easiest way to keep updated.
