    CSS Web designer/developer

    To work in a close knit, friendly design agency.

    As part of our team you will work alongside designers as a specialist in (x)HTML and CSS to build client web solutions. You will be working in a close, fun and hard working environment alongside designers, production staff and account handlers. Your role will be to rapidly develop site designs and concepts turning them into operational sites. Your finished work will be of deployment-quality with a working knowledge of hosting and set up.

    A strong appreciation of contemporary website design and trends is essential as is the ability to apply this to your work. You will have experience developing across multiple platforms and browsers as well as experience of web and accessibility standards (W3C).

    Required skills
    • Hand-coded (x)HTML, following best-practices, tableless design, semantic markup.
    • CSS-based design and experience with multiple methods and reasoning of which to use/when.
    • Experience in creating small to medium user-friendly management areas with PHP.
    • Relational databases in MySQL
    • Attention to detail, especially when checking cross-browser compatibility.

    Additional desirable skills
    • JavaScript using ideologies such as separation and degradablity based on the DOM. Also important is know when JavaScript is appropriate.
    • Usability/accessibility experience.
    • Discussion of reasoning and explanation of implementation to non-web developers, such as designers.
    • Also, confidence to ask for changes backed up by examples and citations.

    Salary negotiable.
